How the game works

Everyone antes into the pot. Hole a putt in one and you draw a card; hole it in zero and you draw two. Three-putt and you pay the pot, and it doubles from there. The coin follows the most recent three-putter, and holding it at the end costs you. After the last hole, the best five-card poker hand takes everything.

Common questions

• Does it handle the money? No. Putting Poker keeps the tally; you settle up in cash. The app never processes a payment.
• Do we all need it? No. One phone keeps the round and gets handed around.
• Does it need a signal? No. It makes no network requests at all, so it works anywhere on the course.
• Where is my history kept? On your phone only. Use Save a copy at the foot of Past rounds to send yourself a backup.
• I closed the app mid-round. Reopen it — the round is exactly where you left it.
